Yo! All the Sept News and Biz with the JP Band!!
Hey
Hope this wee update finds you well!!
There's been lots going on with the JP Band over the last wee while that we wanted to update you all about - lots of exciting and random little bits of news.
ALBUM: So, we are nearing the final stages of recording...at the moment we are just finishing backing vocals and a few other things and then we are going to mix on the 1st October. Johnny's going out to Shane's (the producer) place in Nashville for the first 5 days of the mix to have a wee listen. Once that's done, there'll only be a few things left to do before the album is available to purchase at the start of November...exciting times!
We are all still buzzing about the songs - some of them are already becoming those sort of songs that immediately have an impact...they just kinda grab a hold of you and speak good words. They speak to your nation and they speak to your soul.We think you're gonna love them! Yum.
We're thinking about calling the album 'Break The Silence'. It kinda captures a little glimpse of what the songs are about. It's about singing louder and singing stronger...cos He's the Lord of all the earth. We've had a few ideas about the name but this one seems to stick. What do you think?
PHOTOS: yes, we're at the stage of getting photos taken for the album. Our good friend Tim Millen is gonna take them - he's a legend. Great photographer, great painter and great person. We want to have a strong connection in the photos and artwork with home....sunny Ireland (well....it's actually freezing today!). We might get shots take up at the Peace Wall in Belfast and possibly some wee shots in a fishing boat up in the North coast! It'll be fun. Everyone in the band at the moment is very conscious of how they're hair is looking and what they're going to wear! If you've any advice, let them know...they need it! Let's hope they scrub up!
JOHNNY'S MUM: Johnny's Mum (Pat) starts her chemo treatment today. It's a long road ahead...she will be taking the treatment for 18 weeks and then starts radiotherapy. She's consistently been in good form and has remained positive. When she met with the consultant last week to plan the chemo treatment, one of her primary concerns was whether it would effect her holiday to Tenerife in January. You'll be pleased to know that she's panning to go no matter what she feels like! Please continue to pray into this situation.
DECEMBER LAUNCH: We are planning to launch the new album in Belfast with a big, mad, krazy night in the Spires on the 15th December with the JP band and Tre Sheppard (from 100 Hours) speaking. Everything still has to be confirmed...but if you're up for it, pencil it into your diary and we'll send you more info closer to the time! Don't miss out...it's gonna be mighty.
ATIG: wow....this is an exciting development...JP and the band have been having some really great discussions with a local promotions company called ATIG. Phil Simpson from ATIG is really keen to work with the JP Band to support them in what they're doing. Everything is getting bigger and busier for the band and it looks like ATIG are gonna come on board to support what the band are doing locally and in the USA. Phil is a really great guy and we are chuffed to get working with him in the future. Bring it on!
So...that's all the biz for now. We just LOVE to keep you informed!
Peace,
The JP Team
PS - BIG thanks to all the guys who recorded all the live crowd noises on Sunday night in CFC...esp big thanks to Ding. You are a legend and we love you man!
