Hello from sunny Houston, Texas
Hi everyone,
We are currently in Houston, Texas waiting for our flight to San Francisco. It has been an eventful journey so far. On the flight from Belfast Paul (our bass player) spent most of his time looking after a lady who was experiencing cardiac problems. Eventually the airline made the call to turn back and so we had the opportunity to spend a few hours in Iceland. Due to Paul’s help the flight attendants upgraded us to First Business so we spent the last 5 hours of our flight to Newark in luxury.
The journey was made even more eventful after 2 ladies were arrested by the Icelandic police and taken off the plane. I think this made the headlines! Our Business First seats gave us an amazing view of the Manhattan Skyline during our descent – very cool!
We landed safely after 14 hours on the plane and spent the night in a hotel (by night I mean just over 2 hours sleep). We took a 5:30am flight to Houston Texas and we are now waiting to board our last flight and should be in San Francisco just after 1pm local time. We’ll get our car and get on the road for Sacramento where we play at Youth Specialties tonight.
The airline folk have been brilliant so far – no extra baggage charges on any of the flight, through customs without any problems and upgraded to First Business. Please pray for strength after our travels and that we are able to do a really good job tonight at our 10pm gig.
