Break The Silence - What to expect!!

November 2007
JOHNNY PARKS BAND ‘BREAK THE SILENCE’

Irish worship leader Johnny Parks, who recently joined Chris Tomlin on tour in the USA, Uk & Ireland, has just released his second studio album with Survivor Records entitled ‘Break the Silence”.

Break the Silence includes some of the Johnny Parks Band’s best work to date, with some of songs co-written with Survivor label mates Matt Redman, Tim Hughes and Nick Herbert.

They include songs such as Rescuer, Great Church, Our God Is Mighty, Victorious and Brand New Day which stand out as anthems for the individual worshipper and the church.

These songs sit alongside other songs of worship which reflect the changes that have been taking place on the political landscape of his home country.

Songs such as The Troubles are Over, Walls and Freedom ‘Let’s Go’ have been birthed as a response to God’s faithfulness through a political/religious conflict and as prophetic cry for what God still longs to do in Ireland. In a day when religious division and conflict are increasingly evident in our communities, the heart of these songs will resonate across the world as songs for our times.

The album, while resourcing the church with new songs of worship, is also challenging us again to worship God with our lives in our nations, in our communities and beyond the walls of our churches. It is a call for the church to “Break the Silence” and “Lift your voice” so we can speak and act in our communities today.

About the title, ‘Break The Silence’, Johnny says, “When we experience complex difficulties on our countries and in the world, there can be a pressure on us to remain motionless and silent. This isn’t Gods plan for the living church of Christ. He wants us to have to break the silence and begin to speak with courage and faith into the situations that we encounter.”

We are convinced that you will find these songs fresh and uplifting and they draw you towards God’s heart for our world.
