Important Irish things

Hi

We are sitting in the studio here and contrary to what you might think, we are sitting down, right now, and getting prepared to watch Ireland play Scotland in rugby. It's a very important moment.

I am a rugby fan. Always have been. My Grandad played for Ireland in the 20's and my dad played rugby at a senior level for many years. I was fortunate enought to play in some great teams and won the Ulster Schools Sevens tournament and the Under 20's League and Cup in Ireland. Irish rugby is in my blood.

So this game today is important to watch however, it is even more important given the fact that the Rugby World Cup starts after the summer (I am so excited/nervous)...and Ireland have the best team they've had for decades.

Irish rugby is great. The tradition, the passion, the skill and the 6/7 years of preparation for Eddie O'Sullivan getting the team ready. If there ever was a moment for the Irish side to do well in a world cup, this is it. They are in the hardest group however they have the ability to perform.

I know there are more important things in life...but I wonder every now and then if God has a wee bit of Irish blood. If he does, let's hope he shows some favour to the squad today and for the World Cup. Pleeease.

We deserve it.

JP
