Ballinderry Rocks!

Yo!

Just returned from Ballinderry...what a great night! We had such a good time.

We were invited to lead at the last night of a series of events in the local area (B'derry, Aghalee and some funny place called Broomhedge!?). It was a great wee night with some really enthusiastic, lovely people in the room.

I had a sense that God was speaking to folk tonight and working with them...and there was a real feeling of freedom in the room.

The PA broke down at one stage, so we decided to sing a few wee songs off-the-cuff....some old skool praise songs and a couple of others. The crowd really responded and seemed to relax and then seemed much more comfortable about freely entering into worship.

We had a chat in the car on the way home about how people sometimes need to feel there is permission in the room before they can relax and enter into worship without feeling they have inhibitions. It made me wonder how we could help people to relax more and become more free.

Anyway...thanks for a great night to all of you who were there. We really loved being there, having a bit of craic and meeting God with you. let's do it again!

Peace

Great night and the guys really seemed to enter into it.

Maybe you should do some impromptu accoustic stuff before every gig to loosen peeps up? Would CFC welcome it?

Just a comment in response to your previous post about mission worship songs.

YES I think we need them. Many of those types of songs have come from for example the Mennonite tradition in N America, where social concern and peace building is high on the agenda. I think we are really lacking this in our evangelical circles. So many of our songs can be hard to relate and apply to these hard issues.

Really glad you and other worship leaders are talking about this. This is the time for these questions. Keep pursuing them, and we will pray that God gives you the songs!

i was hanging out with Nick herbert last week and we did 'Rescuer'

Good Skills Lads....!

That song is so good it unfortunately destined to the fate of death by repetition (ala, Blessed be, How great is our god, etc etc.)

'tis a shame
